ACTION DIARY
Diaries of Despair Day of Action II - 20th September 2003
On this day (the 3rd anniversary of the original publication
of the historic Diaries of Despair Report) there were over 50 actions
all across the UK.
Dozens of people visited their MPs in their constituency surgeries
to urge them to sign Early Day Motion (EDM) 1340 'Uncaged Campaigns',
calling for an Independent Judicial Inquiry into the Diaries of
Despair scandal. At the last count 153 MPs have now signed EDM 1340.
Protests took place at the Home Office in London, and in Camberley
in Surrey, home of Novartis Pharmaceuticals UK Ltd.
Dozens of town centre information stalls took place in England,
Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland to educate the public about
the scandal, distribute postcards to be sent to the Prime Minister,
and raise vital campaign funds.
Many people had letter-writing blitzes to MPs, influential politicians
and political bodies, and newspapers.
More details and photographs will appear here shortly - watch this
space!
All of these actions can - and should - take place on an
ongoing basis. Click here for details of
how you can get involved.
